What is Lent?
Lent is a season of the Church calendar when we take time to reflect on our lives and to remember that we are human beings who need and desire a relationship with our Creator. During Lent, we ask ourselves where we are not fully living the life we were created to live and we receive once again the mercy and grace of God as we journey towards the cross and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Lent carries the symbolism of death and new life, of darkness and light, of burial and resurrection. During the season of Lent, we recognize the dead places in our lives and we invite God to bring them to new life as we prepare for the celebration of Jesus’ resurrection on Easter.
We are offering several opportunities during Lent for our Grace church community to grow deeper in our relationships with God and each other.
Daily Bible Reading Plan
We've prepared a prayer journal with daily Bible readings to help you grow in your relationship with God as we journey through Lent towards Easter.
- Download a PDF of the Prayer Journal or pick one up at the church.
- Download the Grace Church App, it’s free! On the app you will find a link to our Psalm readings for Lent. You can read the Psalms each day straight from our app. Or, of course, you can use a printed Bible for your reading.
- Join us in reading through the Psalms starting Sunday, February 21st!
Short Term Discussion Groups
We want to provide you with opportunities to connect with each other during this season. So we’ve created online and in person short-term discussion groups for further reflection and friendship.
Weekly Deep Dive
Take a deep dive into the sermon each week with these reflection questions.
Week 1, Week 2
Stay tuned for opportunities to serve during Lent with our Loving the 239 ministries, such as serving at dinner churches and community egg hunts. More information about these opportunities will be shared on our website and social media soon.
