Series: Choose Recovery

Category: Cape Coral Campus

Summary:

Lance A. Testimony

Detail:

Step 12: Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to others and practice these principles in all our affairs.

"A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another." -John 13:34-35

Possible small group discussion starters:

  1.  Having a spiritual awakening is necessary for our recovery through Jesus.  Step 12 says this happens through working the 12 steps.  Which step are you on, and how has your relationship with Jesus awakened in you through working the steps so far?
  2. Step 12 says we try to carry the message of our spiritual awakening to others who suffer.  What are some ways the message of recovery through Jesus has been carried to you, and some ways that you have carried the message to others?
  3. The third part of Step 12 says we practice the 12 steps in everything we do.  Tell about your successes and challenges with working your 12 steps to become more like Jesus.
