PUMPKIN PATCH
During the month of October, the Student Ministries of Grace Church
sell pumpkins to raise money to defray their expenses for Mission
trips. Besides selling pumpkins the Pumpkin Patch is a great
outreach to the community, because it is a drawing card. Those who
work the Pumpkin Patch frequently invite customers to come back to
join in worship on Sundays. The Pumpkin Patch also provides a
service to the area preschools. Many come on a field trip to
experience the setting and enjoy a special story that is read to
them.
SCOUTING MINISTRY
Grace Church joins in a close relationship with the Boy Scouts of
America to minister to boys by focusing on character development,
citizenship training, physical fitness, faith modeling, outreach and
the development of servant leaders for Christ's kingdom.
Cub Scouts , for boys aged 7
to 11, grades 1 to 5, involve the boys, parents, adult leaders and
friends of the boys in activities that teach life skills, habits,
values and attitudes that encourage character development, physical
coordination, family unity, enthusiasm for learning and spiritual
growth.
Boy Scouts , for boys aged 11
to 18, encourages boys to develop physical, mental and emotional
fitness and to adopt and live by meaningful personal standards.
These values and standards include the Scout Oath and Law.
Activities include fitness and leadership training, outdoor
adventures such as hiking, canoeing, camping, and merit badges to
learn hobbies and career skills.
Spiritual growth is offered for the
boys and their parents through the Religious Emblem program
available for all grades.
