The Thrift Store ministry gets to serve the community at many levels.
1.) Through community donations, we are able to give clothing, housewares, even furniture and appliances to people in need. Every month we give away more than 1000 articles of clothing and housewares to our neighbors.
2.) We help our community by pricing everything EXTREMELY affordably - probably the lowest prices in town; clothing at $1.00 per piece, housewares start at 25 cents, furniture is priced to move out very quickly (and it does!)
3.) The revenues generated from the sale of these items to the public are far below retail value, are the available to fund the other ministries and programs on the Grace Community Center.
4.) Volunteer opportunities. This full scale retail operation is run almost entirely on the backs of our wonderful volunteers with more than 1500 volunteer hours logged each month. Volunteer opportunities include display, pricing, cleaning, sorting clothes and merchandise, furniture pick-up and moving, administrative and electronics.
Our vision statement is: Partnering with God, to help people in need and to generate revenue to support Grace Community Center ministries so that our neighbors may lead lives of dignity and freedom, to the glory of God.
