Please know that our top priority is for your visit to be a positive, welcoming, and friendly experience. We won't put you on the spot or make you feel awkward. In the Welcome Center, a volunteer will greet you and give you a handout that includes weekly announcements and an outline of the sermon. The handout includes an optional "Let's Connect" card, if you would like to find out more about our church or want to let us know how we can pray for you during the week. When you enter the sanctuary, please sit wherever you feel most comfortable.
We love music, so our services start with a time of worship through singing. The lyrics are displayed on a screen. Many people will stand while they sing, but you are not required to stand or to sing. We encourage you to participate in whatever way you feel comfortable, even if that means just observing. We will usually take a minute to share important announcements, and we will collect an offering during the service. You are not obligated to give, and you will not be pressured to make a donation.
Every worship service includes a sermon preached by a live speaker, usually one of our pastors. The message will often focus on a passage of scripture and how it relates to our lives today. Every sermon is designed to be understandable, creative, challenging, biblical, and helpful. Sermons are developed by the Teaching Team, which is made up of Grace Church's pastors and other gifted communicators from all of our campuses, who meet together every week. Sermons will last between 20-25 minutes during typical worship services. The sermon often concludes with an invitation to pray or respond in a different way. During this time, we sing another song or two, and you might observe people coming forward to kneel and pray at the altar rail. We never pressure or manipulate people to respond in a certain way; we simply provide space for people to connect with God.
A pastor or worship leader will end the service with a prayer or blessing. Afterward, Pastor Shari and other volunteers are available in the Welcome Center to answer questions and help you get connected.
