High School Bible Study
We are so excited to announce a new Bible Study for high school students that tackles tough questions teenagers are asking in their minds, but might not be asking out loud. Teenagers are tired of superficial or nonexistent answers to tough questions about God, the Bible, and Christianity. Just when high school students are capable of diving into the deep end of their faith, the church often only has shallow answers for them. Through the Can I Ask That? Bible Study and conversation, it is our hope that high school students will be set up to discover answers for their hard questions.
Can I Ask That? Is an 8-week study that looks at one tough question per week. Throughout the course of the study, students will tackle the following questions:
- Can I trust the Bible?
- Does the Bible contradict itself?
- Can I be a Christian and believe in evolution?
- Does God discriminate against women?
- Is Jesus really the only way to God?
- What does the Bible say about being gay?
- Does God endorse violence?
- How can I follow a God who would let Christians do such bad things?
Due to the fact that these questions will lead to some more mature discussion, we want parents and students to be aware of what will be discussed going into the study. In order for your teen to participate in Can I Ask That? we need a signed waiver, found on the next page, turned in. Signed waivers are required for students to take part in this study.
Can I Ask That? will meet on Tuesday evenings from 6:15-7:30pm in the Youth Room at the Cape Campus of Grace Church. Our first gathering will be on February 12th and will end on April 9th (we will not meet on March 19th due to Spring Break). All participants in the Bible study will also be receiving a Student Guide that they will need to bring each week to help with discussion and engagement.
Middle School Retreat 2019
All middle school students are invited to experience a weekend of games, worship, and time with God at Riverside Retreat Center on March 29-31, 2019. During the weekend, we will discover how we are all invited and welcomed into a relationship with Jesus that is constant in my weariness, my wondering, and my wandering. Sign up today!
