Youth

“Don’t let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity.”
1 Timothy 4:12

Fill Your Calendar!

There’s always something going on for youth at Grace.  Throughout the year we have many fun events to give students an opportunity to hang out and grow in their relationship with Christ in a setting that is comfortable and inviting.  Here are some examples:

--The Annual Octane Lock-In is an all night party for our middle school students.  The lock-in is complete with loud music, games, hanging out, movies, and a ton of food.  You probably won’t sleep, but you will have a blast!

--Middle School Dances are held quarterly at the GraceCommunity Center for all middle school students in our community.  These dances are better than your school dance with the best DJ in town, awesome door prizes, and of course dancing!

--Open Youth is for the dog days of summer when there’s nothing to do.  The youth room is open weekday afternoons for hanging out with friends, playing games, and watching movies.

--Sunday morning Bible and book studies take place for youth throughout the year.  At 10:00 middle schoolers are invited to Bible study in the youth room with Sarah Davis.  This is a fun, interactive look at God’s word and how we can use it in our everyday lives.  The next study for high schoolers is entitled, True U, and begins in February.

--5th Quarter nights are late night parties that take place in the youth room after Friday night games during football season.  All community high schoolers are invited for food, fun, and dancing!

Serving others is where it’s at!

When it comes to serving, the students of Grace Church get it!  Whether it is by serving on Sunday mornings in

Grace Place
, the parking lot, or Harvest Café or during special events like VacationBibleSchool, or the Leadership Summit, our students are involved in church!

The youth also take part in various mission projects during the year like Third Saturday Events at the Grace Community Center, World Vision’s 30 Hour Famine, and adopting families for Christmas.

Mission trips take place during breaks from school when there is time to travel!   These provide an opportunity for students and their leaders to grow closer to each other while serving God and His people.  They provide spiritual growth and renewal for all involved.

“My trip to Savannah strengthened my faith with God, and it opened my eyes so I could see God's path he made for me more clearly.” (Michael E.)

We have two trips planned for this summer of 2010:

July 10-17… Mission trip to Pikeville, Kentucky.  There students will spread God’s love to the Appalachian people by providing home repair, sports camps, and vacation Bible school.

August 1-7…High School Students will embark on a mission to EleuthraIsland in the Bahamas.  Here they will build and repair homes for impoverished citizens.
