Through the Roof

 Through the Roof

Through the Roof is a ministry created with the intent to reach and serve children with special needs who desire to be part of a church family.  Nearly 20% of the American population has some sort of special need.  Many of these are Christians who are in search of a church home. After a great deal of prayer, research and meetings, Grace Kidz has created Through the Roof.  In the Bible Matthew, Mark and Luke recount a story in which four friends will do anything to bring their disabled friend to meet Jesus.

A few days later, when Jesus again entered Capernaum, the people heard that he had come home. So many gathered that there was no room left, not even outside the door, and he preached the word to them.   Some men came, bringing to him a paralytic, carried by four of them. Since they could not get him to Jesus because of the crowd, they made an opening in the roof above Jesus and, after digging through it, lowered the mat the paralyzed man was lying on.  When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven.”
Mark 2: 1-5

They are even willing to lower him "through the roof. That is what we desire to do.  To create a culture that will put extra effort into helping any child meet Jesus.

This ministry is intended to help children, ages nursery through 5th grade, to participate to the fullest degree possible in our Sunday morning Grace Kidz programs, our short term Wednesday night choir programs and/or our Tuesday and Friday night Celebrate Kidz program.  This would include, but is not limited to, challenges with physical, behavioral, educational, emotional and/or mental  development.  Our intent is to integrate these children into our existing ministries to the best of their, and our, ability by pairing them with a friend, or “buddy” who assists them on a one on one basis.  Families may choose to ask for short or long term assistance. Program coordinators will work with families to determine what, how, when and where we can offer assistance.

Applications are available for both families and perspective buddies by contacting our Director of Children’s Ministry, Linda Bowling
